CWP No.25829 of 2016 The grievance of the petitioner in the present writ petition is to the impugned orders (Annexures P-4 and P-6) whereby he has been suspended from the post of Sarpanch and appeal also dismissed. On specific question being raised by this Court, Mr. Nagra submits that regular enquiry under Section 26 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 is pending adjudication. Without commenting upon the merits and demerits of the case and particularly when the regular enquiry is pending, as it may seriously prejudice the defence of the petitioner, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction to the Director, Rural Development and Panchayat before whom the enquiry is pending to conclude the enquiry proceedings as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified of the order.
