Prayer in this writ petition is for release of gratuity to the petitioners as per the provisions of the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 as well as arrears of gratuity in terms of decision dated 18.01.2010 in CWP No. 6905 of 2006 (Krishan Lal Aggarwal and others v. State of Punjab and others) Annexure P-3, wherein relief was granted to the petitioners therein on the basis of judgment dated 22.09.2008 in CWP No. 15423 of 2008 (Municipal Council, Pathankot v. The Appellate Authority). Special Leave Petition preferred by the Municipal Council impugning decision dated 22.09.2008 stands dismissed on OMKAR SINGH 2015.12.29 13:27 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

CWP No.26850 of 2015 [2] 08.07.2014 (Annexure P4). Present petitioners are stated to be identically placed.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that legal notice dated 22.04.2015 (Annexure P-5) served by the petitioners upon the respondents has not been decided till date. She prays for direction to the respondents to decide the abovesaid legal notice.

Keeping in view the limited prayer, facts and circumstances of the case but without expressing any opinion on the merits of the controversy, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority to expeditiously decide legal notice dated 22.04.2015 (Annexure P-5) by passing a speaking order, preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
