Vide detailed order dated 15.1.2021, it was observed that a petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C., challenging order declaring the petitioner as proclaimed offender, in not maintainable, in view of ratio of judgment 'Mehnga Singh vs. State of Punjab 2002 (1) CLJ (Criminal) 302' and appropriate remedy for such accused is to approach the trial Court. Counsel for the petitioner was directed to address the Court on the point of maintainability. However, learned counsel for the petitioner, instead of addressing the arguments on that point, states that he be permitted to withdraw the present petition. Allowed.
