This petition has been filed, inter alia, for quashing the selection of respondent no.14 as Assistant Professor-Hindi in University College, Kurukshetra.

This Court vide order dated 23.3.2023 directed the University to consider creating of a supernumerary post for the petitioner, who agreed that he would have no objection to be appointed as Assistant Professor from the date respondent no.14 had been appointed, with protection of pay.

Learned counsel for the University informs that based on that order, the State Government was requested for creation of a supernumerary post of Assistant Professor in Hindi. In response, the Ashwani Kumar 2023.12.01 11:26 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP No.4364 of 2013 (O & M) -2- 2023:PHHC:151517 government informed the University to adjust the petitioner at its own level against any vacant post already available. Based on that, a Committee constituted by the Vice Chancellor to look into the matter, has observed that there are three vacant posts of Assistant Professor in the Department of Hindi, against one of these the petitioner can be adjusted, subject to ratification by the Executive Council and finalisation of roster of the vacant teaching posts. The recommendations of the Committee have already been approved by the Vice Chancellor. 4.

In view thereof, learned counsel for the petitioner has no objection to the petition being disposed of with a direction to the University to take a final decision through its Executive Council and appoint the petitioner against one of the vacant posts of Assistant Professor in the Department of Hindi, from the date respondent no.14 has been appointed, with protection of pay, within a period of three months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order. 5.

Ordered accordingly.
