The present petition has been filed under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (corresponding to Section 482 Cr.P.C.) seeking appropriate directions to the respondent police authorities to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the private respondents, who are allegedly attempting to unlawfully interfere with the holy sanctity of petitioner No.2, namely Gurdwara Sahib, and to forcibly remove petitioner No.1, the Head Granthi of the said Gurdwara Sahib, without authority of law and through illegal and violent means. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that for redressal of their grievance, the petitioners have already filed representation dated 24.05.2026 (Annexure P-10) before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Barnala and Station House Officer, Police Station Dhanaula, District Barnala, however, no action NEETU RANI 2026.05.29 17:55 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment PHHC, CHD
CRWP No.6438 of 2026 -2has been taken on the same till date.

Notice of motion only to the official respondents. 4.
On the asking of the Court, Mr. Sahil Chowdhary, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. 5.
Without commenting upon the merits of the case and in view of the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Barnala, to decide the representation dated 24.05.2026 (Annexure P-10) filed by the petitioners, qua threat perception in accordance with law within a period of one month from today and grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty of petitioner No.1, is perceived.

It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to petitioner No.1 for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by him.
