ASHOK KUMAR VERMA, J. (ORAL) Through this petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, prayer has been made for issuance of direction to respondents No. 2 to 4 to protect the life and liberty of the brother of petitioner namely Satnam Singh S/o Mahiner Singh and his daughter Ranjit Kaur wd/o Arvinder Singh, from the hands of private respondents No. 5 to 7 and provide police protection at the time of cremation of Arvinder Singh and also during the stay of Satnam Singh and Ranjit Kaur in India.

Short reply by way of short affidavit of Sh. Balbir Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Fatehgarh Churian, Police District Batla, District Gurdaspur, has been received through e-mail from RISHU KATARIA 2021.11.02 10:32 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP-9418-2021 -2the learned counsel for the State, which is taken on record. Learned State counsel submits that as per averments made in the short reply, there is no threat perception to the life and liberty of the brother of petitioner namely Satnam Singh S/o Mahiner Singh and his daughter Ranjit Kaur wd/o Arvinder Singh. He further submits that statement of petitioner-Kuldeep Kaur, in this regard has also been recorded by the Incharge, Police Post Sekhupur. In view of the above, nothing survives for consideration in the instant petition and the same is, therefore, disposed of, as having been rendered infructuous.
