**** ANOOP CHITKARA, J. (ORAL) The peƟƟoner alleges that he is facing harassment at the hands of police officials of the concerned police staƟon/police post, has come up before this Court seeking protecƟon.

State counsel on instrucƟons from ASI Mohan Singh submits that there is an FIR registered against son of the peƟƟoner for the commission of offence punishable under SecƟon 376 IPC which is a non-bailable and cognizable offence and the accused is absconding. The police is only trying to know the whereabouts of the said accused, which is their legal right and obligaƟon. He further submits that he has specific instrucƟons to state that there is no quesƟon of police officials harassing the peƟƟoner and he should not fear from them and as per invesƟgaƟon Ɵll date the peƟƟoner has no role in the case under SecƟon 376 IPC.

Given such assurance, no order is required to be passed in the present peƟƟon and the same is disposed of. All pending miscellaneous applicaƟons, if any, stand disposed of.
