(ORAL) The present petition has been instituted under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, 1950 seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents not to distribute the stock of wheat to the beneficiaries through the Inspector and to restore the supply to the petitioners under the Public Distribution System.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the supply with respect to petitioners No.2 to 4 has already been restored and the present petition has been rendered infructuous qua the said petitioners as per the order dated 06.11.2019.

Learned State Counsel, on instructions from Amrinder Singh Randhawa, Inspector, Food and Civil Supplies, Amritsar, informs that even the supply qua petitioner No.1 i.e. the sole surviving petitioner has also been restored.

CWP-22847-2017 -2In view of the statement made above by the learned State Counsel, the present petition stands disposed of as having been rendered infructuous. Liberty is, however, granted to the petitioners to seek revival of the petition in case the statement made above by the learned State Counsel is found to be false or incorrect.
