The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ, order or direction in the nature of habeas corpus with a prayer for issuance of a writ by directing respondents No.3 to 8 to set free the minor daughter of the petitioner, who has been allegedly illegally detained by respondents No.9 and 10. 2.

In compliance of the order dated 30.01.2024, learned State counsel for Punjab on instructions from ASI Surjit Singh submits that the matter was looked into and the competent official was deputed to locate the whereabouts of the detenue. However, it was reported that the address so provided by the petitioner was not correct.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present petition be disposed of with a direction to SSP, Ambala to look into the matter. 4.
