The present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking a direction to the respondents to not to allow plying of those commercial transport vehicles which use diesel as fuel within the municipal limits of Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala and Union Territory, Chandigarh. 2.
Much water has flown since this petition was filed in the year 2008 and detailed orders have been passed from time to time showing how steps are being taken by the respondents to set up CNG outlets and CNG RAVINDER KUMAR 2023.12.21 18:19 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment.

As per order dated 14.07.2022, it is stated that Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board has awarded contracts for laying down of necessary infrastructure for supply of CNG in the cities of Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. Response from Chairman, Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board has also been filed about the current status and it has been stated that contracts have been awarded to various companies. 3.
As of today public transport is being replaced by electric buses in Chandigarh and accordingly this petition is disposed of as no further directions are required to be issued at this stage. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to file a fresh one if any cause of action arises in future. 4.
