Ms. Alka Chatrath, Advocate for the petitioner. JASWANT SINGH, J (ORAL) The petitioner is seeking a writ of Mandamus for appointing him as Constable (Male) with the Punjab Police as per his merit, as the appointment has been denied due to his involvement in a criminal case.

At the time of hearing, Ms. Alka Chatrath, Advocate has filed Vakalatnama on behalf of the petitioner submitting that she has been engaged by superseding the earlier counsel. However, at the very outset, she seeks the permission to withdraw the present writ petition to enable her client to file a fresh one with better particulars.
