The petitioner seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus so as to release the detenues namely Manjit Kaur Kaira, wife of the petitioner, Gunreet Kaur & Tarun Preet Kaur, daughters of Manjit Kaur Kaira, who according to the petitioner are alleged to be illegally detained in the premises of respondents No.5 to 7.

Ms. Sushma Pathak, Advocate has put in appearance on behalf of the detenue namely Manjit Kaur Kaira and has filed Power of Attorney, which is taken on record.

Pursuant to order dated 18.7.2024, a Warrant Officer had been appointed so as to visit the premises of respondents No.5 to 7 and to apprise about whereabouts of the alleged detenues.

Report of Warrant Officer has been received as per which the alleged detenues were found at the residence of respondents No.5 to 7. However, the Pankaj Kakkar 2024.07.22 18:26 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CRWP-6865-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) detenue namely Manjit Kaur Kaira stated that she is living with her mother and brother as per her own will without there being any threat or pressure and does not wish to reside with petitioner - Dalbir Singh Deol. The other two detenues namely Gunreet Kaur & Tarun Preet Kaur have also stated identically.

In view of the aforestated position, the instant petition is rendered infructuous and is disposed off as such.
