**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) Present petitioner, who has already been convicted in some of the cases and is also facing trial in number of cases, has approached this Court raising a grievance that his human rights are being violated while in custody.

As per the averments made in the present petition, petitioner is already convicted in two cases and is under trial in 6 cases and in custody, he is being kept in a solitary confinement and is only allowed one hour time in open and further that he is not being provided the adequate food and water to survive.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a direction be issued to respondent No.3 to look into the allegations and redress the grievance of the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner further NARESH KUMAR 2021.10.07 16:52 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-9596-2021 -2submits that a representation dated 19.04.2021 (Annexure P-2) was already filed by the brother of the petitioner, who had been informed about the said difficulties being faced by the petitioner, to respondent No.3 and the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to respondent No.3 to decide the said representation (Annexure P-2) by passing an appropriate speaking order. Notice of motion.

Mr. Ramdeep Partap Singh, D.A.G., Punjab, who has joined the proceedings through video conference, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State. Learned State counsel raises no objection with regard to prayer of the petitioner for deciding the representation dated 19.04.2021 (Annexure P-2) by respondent No.3 in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner in representation dated 19.04.2021 (Annexure P-2), respondent No.3 is directed to decide the representation dated 19.04.2021 (Annexure P-2) by passing a speaking order within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Present writ petition stands disposed of.
