(ORAL) This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner from the hands of respondents No. 4 to 10. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner is 71 years old senior citizen and his wife has already died and he is living alone. The private respondents used to ill-treat the petitioner and thrown him out of the house and put him in a cattle shed. The petitioner raised voice against the acts of the private respondents but with the intervention of the respectables, the matter was compromised and the private respondents assured to pay him Rs. 1,10,000/- every year as lease amount of the land of the petitioner. However, the private respondents did not pay any amount to the petitioner.

Rather, they threatened the petitioner and tried to kill him. Learned counsel further submits that for redressal of his grievance, the petitioner has also made a representation dated 09.8.2021 (Annexure P-1) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka-respondent No. 2 but till date no action has been taken on the same.
