***** JASPAL SINGH, J Through instant petition preferred under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioners have sought issuance of a writ, order or direction to the respondents to release the retirement/service benefits accrued under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) as per UGC notification w.e.f. 01.01.1996 and further to release the benefits with arrears and interest. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that though legal notice dated 18.04.2018 (P-13) was duly served upon the respondents but till date neither any response has been received nor any conscious decision has been taken.

Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that petitioners feel satisfied in case direction is issued to respondent No.1 to decide legal notice (P-13), in a time bound manner.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, instant petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent No.1-Principal Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Punjab Punjab Mini Secretariat, Sector 9, Chandigarh to consider the claim put forth by the petitioners in legal notice (P-13) and to take a conscious decision, in accordance with law, rules and instructions, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

However, if the petitioners still feel aggrieved against any of the order passed by the concerned authority, they shall be at liberty to approach this Court as well as to have recourse to the other remedies available under law.
