The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of order dated 10.03.2026 (Annexure P-8) to the extent petitioner has not been granted interest on delayed payment of compensation.

The victim suffered electrocution in September'2020. The petitioner served notice upon respondents seeking compensation in October'2022. The compensation was released on 10.03.2026. 3.

Learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that petitioner is entitled to interest as per Section 4A of Employees' Compensation Act, 1923 (for short '1923 Act'). This Court vide order dated 15.05.2026 in a bunch of petitions including CWP No. 39208 of 2025 titled PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2026.05.27 16:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP No.17249-2026 -2as 'Meena Rani and another vs. State of Haryana and others' has already directed respondents to pay interest in the similar circumstances. 4.

On being confronted with aforesaid order, learned counsel representing the respondents expressed his inability to controvert applicability of aforesaid order to the facts of present case. 5.

The petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondent to pay interest to petitioner @ 12% per annum in terms of Section 4A of 1923 Act from the date of serving notice i.e. 11.10.2022 to the date of payment. Let the needful be done within six weeks from today. 6.
