Present writ petition is for issuance of directions to the respondents to reserve one post of Gram Panchayat, Village Fatehpur, Tehsil, Patti, District Tarn Taran in view of the provisions of Sections 11 & 12 of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 as the said post was never declared reserved for the candidate of scheduled caste category since 1993 despite there is a considerable population belonging to the said category. Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that petitioner has already made a detailed representation (Annexure P1) to the concerned authority on 22.03.2018, which has been pending since then. In view of above, present writ petition stands disposed of with the directions to respondents to consider and decide representation dated 22.03.2018 (Annexure P1) expeditiously and preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
