(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed by the petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus seeking release of detenue Harpreet Singh, who has been allegedly picked up and detained by the police i.e. respondents No. 3 to 6. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that though the petitioner was illegally detained by respondents No. 3 to 6 but during the pendency of the present petition, he has been released. At this stage, learned State counsel, on instructions from SI Pankaj Kumar, submits that Harpreet Singh was neither detained nor he is required in any case.
