Petitioner has preferred this petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondents to take action against respondent No.5 under Punjab Police Rules, 1934.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that respondent No.5 is an accused in FIR No.14 dated 23.09.2020 under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act registered at Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Ferozepur Range. CWP No. 20520 of 2021 -2case was registered at the instance of the petitioner. No action has been taken against respondent No.5 despite his involvement in the aforesaid corruption case. Learned State counsel appeared on 07.10.2021 on the basis of advance notice given to the State. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied in case his representations dated 30.07.2021 (Annexures P-3 and P-4) filed before the Inspector General Range Ferozepur and Director General of Police, Punjab are decided within a stipulated period.
