1. The prayer made in the present petition is for directing the respondents to grant selection grade/higher scale of Rs.10300-34800+4200 with retrospective effect, as granted to his juniors. 2.

The premise of the petitioner claim is based on the fact that he along with Sukhdev Singh and Tarsem Singh, had undergone a training together, as is apparent from the order dated 26.09.1986, Annexure P-3 and in the list appended therewith, he was shown to be senior to them, however, only on the ground that they had applied for the post and he was subsequently adjusted, cannot be the reason sufficient for treating him their junior and not allowing him the same benefit, as granted to them. He thus, at this stage, on instructions from the petitioner prays for reconsideration with permission to file a detailed representation, which may be directed to be decided in a time boundmanner. 3. Learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made to having a re-look at the matter subject to the petitioner substantiating his claim in the fresh representation.

case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents that in case petitioner submits the representation within a period of 4 weeks, the same shall be considered and decided, within a further period of 6 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to him and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to his interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioner shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon !" "#
