CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJAN GUPTA

Present:

Mr. Sunny Singla, Advocate, for the petitioner(s). Ms. Ishneet Kaur, A.A.G., Punjab.

***** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) Petitioner has impugned the selection to 36 posts of Warders/Matrons made pursuant to advertisement issued in the year 2011. As the petitioner claims that she possesses necessary qualification, she participated in the selection process. In the said selection, she secured 20 marks i.e. below cut-off 21 marks. Resultantly, she was not selected. It has been urged before the court that the selection process was not transparent. It has not been disclosed by the selection committee as to what criteria was adopted while awarding the marks.

According to learned State counsel, selection was carried out as per norms. Marks were given separately for three components i.e. physical measurement, physical efficiency test and interview. Petitioner, who was under SC category, got 20 marks while the last candidate selected in the said category obtained 21 marks.
