In the present writ petition, the petitioner is praying for issuance of a direction to the respondents to release the death-cum-retiral and pensionary benefits pertaining to the deceased son of the petitioner, namely Rupinderjit Singh.

Learned counsel submits that the daughter-in-law of the petitioner has now got remarried as such, the petitioner is entitled for grant of family pension. Learned counsel further submits that petitioner has also served a legal notice dated dated 22.04.2026 (Annexure P-5) in respect of grant of pensionary benefits.

Learned counsel, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that at this stage, petitioner will be satisfied if a direction is given to respondent No.4 to decide the legal notice dated 22.04.2026 (Annexure P-5) served by the petitioner, in a time bound manner. In view of the above and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4 to consider and decide the legal notice dated 22.04.2026 (Annexure P5), served by the petitioner within a period of 03 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order in accordance with law/rules. 7.
