State of Punjab and others .............Respondent CORAM: HON'BLE MR.JUSTICE JASWANT SINGH Present:- Mr.Kewal Singh,Advocate for the petitioners Mr.V.Ramsarup,Addl.AG Punjab for respondents 1 and 2 Jaswant Singh,J.(Oral) Sarpanch and two Panches of Gram Panchayat Raowal, Block Sidhwan Bet, Tehsil Jagraon, District Ludhiana are seeking a direction for taking action against Panches-respondents 3 to 7 for not attending the meetings consecutively for months together. It is stated that that as per provisions of Section 20(1)(d) of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act,1994 action for their removal can be taken after enquiry. Vide order dated 13.11.2014 (P-25) the Director, Rural Development and Panchayat had directed the ADC(D)Ludhiana to inquire into the said allegations and submit report within 30 days. Despite lapse of said period nothing has been done by ADC(D) Ludhiana.

CWP 3437/2015 Ludhiana is present in Court. He states that in fact a regular enquiry has been instituted and although the enquiry was to be conducted within specified time, however, in view of large number of enquiries pending the present enquiry could not be completed within the directed time. He, however, assures the Court that the present enquiry shall be conducted on priority basis.

In view of the stand taken by ADC(D) no further adjudication is required.

Disposed of accordingly.
