The present petition has been filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to review/recall the posting orders dated 17.09.2024, 24.09.2024, 25.09.2024, 18.10.2024, 21.10.2024 & 24.11.2024 (Annexures P-3) of the petitioners and granting them opportunity to opt for new/nearby available stations as of today, as given to all the prior and subsequent batches (Seniors as well as juniors).

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that for redressal of their grievances, the petitioners have also submitted representation dated 28.04.2026 (Annexure P-13) to the respondents which is still pending consideration. She further submits that at this stage, the petitioners would be satisfied, if they may be given liberty to supplement the abovesaid representation and appropriate directions are issued to the respondents to consider and decide the said representation, by passing a speaking order, in a time bound manner. Mr. Swapan Shorey, D.A.G., Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents-State. He has no objection to the innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners. 5.
I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

Without going into the merits of the case at this stage, the present petition is disposed of with a liberty to the petitioners to supplement the representation dated 28.04.2026 (Annexure P-13) within a period of one week from today and respondent No.2 is directed to consider and decide the said representation expeditiously by passing a speaking order after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, preferably within a period of 06 weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. Further, the decision taken thereon shall be conveyed to the petitioners.
