Mr. Mohit Kakkar, Advocate for the petitioner. HARINDER SINGH SIDHU, J A writ of mandamus is sought directing respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondent Nos. 4 to 8.
It is the case of the petitioner that he helped one Parminder Kaur who had matrimonial dispute with her husband by getting her a house on rent. Annoyed with the action of the petitioner helping said Parminder Kaur, respondent Nos. 4 to 8 visited the house of the petitioner and threatened to kill him if he continued helping the said lady in future. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that as of now the petitioner is not aware of the whereabouts of said Parminder Kaur. He does not press this petition at this stage, however, since the petitioner apprehends danger to his life at the hands of respondent Nos. 4 to 8, he may be given liberty to approach the competent authority, if need be. Present petition is dismissed as not pressed at this stage. However, it would be open to the petitioner to approach the competent authority i.e.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, Punjab- respondent No. 2, who would be expected to look into the grievance of the petitioner and take appropriate action as may be warranted in law.
