G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioner seeks direction for promotion on the post of Clerk from the date his juniors were promoted against the 15% quota reserved for Scheduled Caste for Class-IV.
Counsel for the petitioner submits that though the petitioner has now retired on 30.04.2016, but her case was always pending consideration and if the respondents decide the said claim, she will be able to get the benefit for pension purposes. Reference is made to the letter dated 09.08.2001 (Annexure P-3) whereby, the Chief Engineer/Construction SYL Canal Project, Punjab had written to respondent no. 3 for considering the case in view of the directions issued earlier also on 28.11.1991 by the Division Bench.
Counsel submits that a detailed representation dated 07.08.2013 (Annexure P-7) had also been served upon the respondents but of no avail. Counsel further submits that he would be satisfied if the said representation is decided within a time bound frame.

Keeping in view the limited relief sought, this Court is of the opinion that there is no need for the respondents to file reply. Accordingly, without commenting on the merits of the case or the entitlement of the petitioner, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to decide the representation dated 07.08.2013 (Annexure P-7) within a period of 3 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order.
