-.- JAISHREE THAKUR J. (ORAL) This is a petition that has been filed for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in FIR No.42 dated 30.09.2020 registered under Sections 498A, 406, 316, 308 IPC at Police Station Women Cell, District Amritsar who is in custody since 15.10.2020.
Counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that the matter stands compromised between the parties and in terms of the compromise, part payment has already been made. It is further submitted that a quashing petition would be filed soon on the basis of the compromise effected between the parties.
Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the complainant admits to the factum of compromise having been arrived at between the parties, however, he has no instructions regarding any payment received. However, PANKAJ KUMAR 2021.01.18 16:49 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent-State would submit that the matter has been investigated and challan presented. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have perused the paper book.
Since the matter has been compromised between the parties, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind bars. The instant petition is allowed and the petitioner is directed to be released on regular bail on execution of adequate personal/surety bond to the satisfaction of concerned trial Court/Duty Magistrate. However, any observation made herein shall not be construed to be an expression on merits of the case.
