The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking setting aside of order dated 08.07.2019 to the extent they have not been granted interest on delayed payment of compensation.

The victim suffered electrocution in May' 2023. The petitioners served notice upon respondents seeking compensation in January' 2024. The compensation of ₹9,40,003/- was released. 3.

Learned counsel for petitioners submits that petitioners are entitled to interest as per Section 4A of Employees' Compensation Act, 1923 (for short '1923 Act'). This Court vide order dated 15.05.2026 in a DEEPAK BISSYAN 2026.05.27 15:49 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CWP-17463-2026 -2bunch of petitions including CWP No.39208 of 2025 titled as 'Meena Rani and Another Versus State of Haryana and Others' has already directed respondents to pay interest in the similar circumstances. 4.

On being confronted with aforesaid order, learned counsel representing the respondents expressed her inability to controvert applicability of aforesaid order to the facts of present case. 5.

The petition stands disposed of with a direction to respondent to pay interest to petitioners @12% per annum in terms of Section 4A of 1923 Act from the date of serving notice to the date of payment. Let the needful be done within six weeks from today. 6.
