The petitioners in this PIL have raised inter alia alleged public cause of initiating independent investigation of numerous FIRs registered under NDPS Act across the State of Punjab involving a specific drug 'Alpra-safe' (Alprazolam) and to ensure accountability, transparency and prosecution of actual manufacturers, suppliers and especially the erring police officials who have failed to trace the network despite massive recoveries.
