The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to transfer the investigation pertaining to complaint dated 17.8.2019 (Annexure P-2) from Economic Offence Wing, Chandigarh to some Higher Ranking Police Officer. 2.

Notice of motion.

At this stage, Mr. Akashdeep Singh, Addl.P.P., U.T., Chandigarh, upon whom an advance copy of petition had already been served, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.

The allegations, in nutshell, are that the petitioner has been duped of an amount of `50 lakhs by respondent No.4-Ravinder Singh, which had been paid by the petitioner through bank.

Learned State counsel has informed that the complaint in question is being examined and the inquiry shall be taken to its logical conclusion in about 2 months time.

In view of the aforesaid submission made on behalf of learned State counsel, the instant petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, U.T., Chandigarh to ensure that the matter in question is got inquired into expeditiously preferably within a period of 2 months from today.
