By this petition, filed under the provisions of Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner seeks issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing respondent no.2 to protect his life and liberty, with a further prayer made for issuance of a direction to respondent no.2 to take legal action against respondents no.4 to 10, in terms of FIR no.84, dated 06.06.2018, registered at Police Station Ajnala, District Amritsar Rural. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in respect of his grievance, the petitioner has made a representation to the SSP (Rural), Amritsar, on 14.09.2020 (copy Annexure P-3), on which allegedly no action has been taken so far.

110) CRWP no.9480 of 2020 (O&M) -2That being so, without making any comment on the correctness or otherwise of the contentions raised in the petition, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the SSP (Rural), Amritsar, to go into the matter and to take action if any is required, as per law, while ensuring of course that the life and liberty of the petitioner is duly protected as per law.
