(Oral) The petitioner questions the eligibility of respondent No.5 to contest the election of Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat of village Kanwara, Tehsil and District Faridabad. Since there is a statutory remedy of election petition available to the petitioner for which the Civil Court is notified as Election Tribunal, we decline to entertain this writ petition and relegate the petitioner to the above-stated alternative remedy. However, taking into consideration the totality of circumstances, it is directed that if any election petition is filed, the Election Tribunal shall make an endeavour to decide the same within a period of six months from the date of its filing.
