The petitioner seeks grant of anticipatory bail in respect of the aforementioned FIR.

At the time of issuance of notice of motion, the following order was passed on 23.7.2024:

"The petitioner seeks grant of anticipatory bail in respect of a case registered vide FIR No.310, dated 15.12.2023 at Police Station Division No.5, District Ludhiana, under Sections 188, 283, 278, 149 of Indian Penal Code and Section 8-B of National Highway Act, 1956.

CRM-M-34899-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) The allegations, in nutshell, are that the petitioner alongwith Sajan, Amandeep Saini, Ginni Dhall, Arshdeep Singh alongwith their accomplices were holding protest outside the office of Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana and had obstructed traffic on the National Highway.

Meanwhile, in the event of arrest, the petitioner be released on interim bail subject to his furnishing personal bonds and surety bonds to the satisfaction of Arresting/Investigating Officer. However, the petitioner shall join the investigation as and when called upon to do so and cooperate with the Investigating Officer and shall also abide by the conditions as provided under Section 438

(2) Cr.P.C."

Learned State counsel, upon instructions from the Investigating Officer, has informed that pursuant to interim directions issued by this Court on 23.7.2024, the petitioner has since joined investigation and he is not required for any custodial interrogation.
