The present petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ/order in the nature of mandamus directing respondent No.2, i.e Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar City, to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner from respondent No.4 and to decide representation dated 20.05.2026 (Annexure P-3) in accordance with law within a time-bound period. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that for redressal of his grievance, the petitioner has already filed representation dated 20.05.2026 (Annexure P-3) before the Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate, Tehsil Complex, Jalandhar City, however, no action has been taken on the same till date.

Without commenting upon the merits of the case and in view of the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate, Tehsil Complex, Jalandhar City, to decide the representation dated 20.05.2026 (Annexure P-3) filed by the petitioner, qua threat perception in accordance with law within a period of one month from today and grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner, is perceived.

It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by him.
