1. Petitioner-Ramandeep Kaur, aged 19 years seeks issuance of direction to the official respondents to protect her life and liberty as she apprehends threat to the same at the hands of private respondents.
2. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner who is aged 19 years is having a love affair with one Ravinder Singh since the last about 2 years and wishes to marry him, but the private respondents who are her parents and close relatives are opposed to the said relationship and are trying to forcibly marry her to some person against her wishes. CRWP-7053-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) petitioner does not marry a boy of their choice. It has been submitted that the petitioner because of the threat extended by the private respondents was forced to leave her house and is presently living with parents of Ravinder Singh. It has further been submitted that although the petitoner submitted a representation dated 15.7.2024 (Annexure P-2) to the police, but to no avail.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, but without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the same is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Jalandhar, to get representation dated 15.07.2024 (Annexure P-2) examined qua the alleged threat perception of the petitioner in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon.
4.
