Present petition has been filed seeking issuance of direction to respondent/State to grant regular parole to the petitioner for a period of 10 weeks in view of the reminder application submitted by the petitioner before respondent No.4 dated 17.05.2026 to enable the petitioner to avail the said parole period for performing his familial duties. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner was prosecuted in a case FIR No.146, dated 08.12.2004 under Section 15 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, registered at Police Station Dhand, District Kaithal and after completion of trial, the petitioner was convicted and sentenced for rigorous imprisonment of 10 years vide judgment of conviction and order of sentence dated 08.09.2006 passed by the learned trial Court. The petitioner assailed the order of his conviction and sentence by way of filing CRA-S-2325-SB-2006, which has been dismissed by this Court vide order dated 25.08.2022 and currently, the petitioner is undergoing his sentence in District Jail, Karnal. CRWP-6325-2026 the grant of parole before the Superintendent, District Jail Karnal i.e. respondent No.4, which was forwarded to respondents Nos.2 and 3, but till date there has been no adjudication upon the said application. Thereafter, the petitioner submitted a reminder application dated 17.05.2026 but still there is no adjudication upon the said reminder as well.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Sumit Jain, Addl. A.G., Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State. 5.
In view of the above position, the present petition stands disposed of. However respondent No.4, i.e. Superintendent, District Jail Karnal, is directed to consider the parole application dated 17.05.2026, filed by the petitioner for grant of parole and pass an order within a period of 04 weeks, in accordance with law.
