G.S.SANDHAWALIA, J. (Oral) The petitioner seeks the release of the pending salary which has been claimed vide representation dated 07.04.2015 alongwith interest @ 12% per annum.

It is the case of the petitioner that he was working as an Inspector with respondent no. 3-Municipal Council, Tarn Taran having joined on 05.09.2014. He has retired on 30.04.2015 but he has not been paid his salary for the said period. Counsel submits that he has served a legal notice dated 28.12.2015 (Annexure P-7) upon the said respondent and she would be satisfied if the said legal notice is decided within a time bound frame.

Notice of motion.

Mr. Avinit Awasthi, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents no. 1 and 2. Copy of the writ petition has been supplied to him. Keeping in view the limited relief sought, this Court is of the opinion that there is no need for the respondents to file reply. CWP No. 3090 of 2016 Accordingly, without commenting on the merits of the case the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 to look into the legal notice dated 28.12.2015 (Annexure P-7) and ensure payment if there is no legal impediment within a period of 2 months from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order. The issue of interest shall also be taken into consideration. Needless to say if the relief is to be denied, a reasoned order be passed and conveyed to the petitioner. 23.02.2016 (G.S.
