1. Petitioner-Amandeep Kaur, aged 19 years seeks issuance of direction for protection to her life and liberty at the hands of the private respondents who are none else, but her parents and other members of her family who have been trying to marry her forcibly to an aged person against her wishes and upon her refusal for the same have been issuing threats to eliminate her.

2. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner was constrained to leave her parental home and is presently residing with her friend Gurpreet Singh son of Rula Singh at Theh Kalandar, District Fazilka. CRWP-7001-2024 (O&M) ( 2 ) although the petitioner submitted a representation dated 21.7.2024 (Annexure P-2) to the police, but to no avail.

3. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, but without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the same is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, to get representation dated 21.07.2024 (Annexure P-2) examined qua the alleged threat perception of the petitioner in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon.

4. A copy of this order along with copy of representation dated 21.07.2024 (Annexure P-2) be sent to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka for necessary compliance.
