This Criminal Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India in the nature of mandamus with prayer for issue a direction to respondent No. 2 to 4 to protecting the life and liberty of the petitioner which is in danger and high risk at the hands of the respondent No. 6 with a further prayer to provide adequate security to the petitioner with a further prayer for issuance of directions to Respondent No. 2 to 4 to decide the representation No. dated 08.05.2026 (UID No. 812665) (P7), expeditiously within stipulated period of time. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is seeking protection of his life and liberty, being a businessman running an agency at Ludhiana. He further submits that the petitioner received a WhatsApp call on his mobile phone from a person claiming to be associated with the dreaded Rohit Godara gang, demanding an extortion RENU RAWAT 2026.05.29 17.10 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP-6451-2026 amount of ₹1 crore and threatening to eliminate the petitioner physically and destroy his business establishment in case of non-payment. He further submits that adequate security may be provided to the petitioner for his protection.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to assess the threat perception and provide adequate security to the petitioner. In case the petitioner applies for an arms licence, the same may also be considered sympathetically.
