***** HARSH BUNGER J. (ORAL) Petitioners have filed the instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of writ in the nature of Mandamus for directing respondent No. 2 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners and also for taking action against respondent No.3 for harassing and threatening the petitioners at the instance of private respondent No.4. 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners would be satisfied at this stage, if a direction is issued to respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Malerkotla to consider/decide their representation dated 04.06.2025 (Annexure P-1). 3.
At this stage, Mr. Nirmaljit Singh Diwana, Sr. DAG, Punjab appears on behalf of the respondent(s)-State of Punjab pursuant to the advance copy of the petition having been sent to the State of Punjab and submits that he has no objection to the said course of action and states that HIMANI GUPTA 2025.06.11 16:39 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document/judgment High Court, Chandigarh
CRWP-6147-2025 (O&M) -2the claim/grievance of the petitioners as stated in their representation dated 04.06.2025 (Annexure P-1) shall be looked into by the respondent authorities.

In view of above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioners in the representation, respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Malerkotla; is directed to consider and decide the representation dated 04.06.2025 (Annexure P-1), submitted by the petitioners, in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to all concerned parties. 5.
It is made clear that this order shall also not be taken to protect the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by them.

The present petition stands disposed of accordingly. 7.
