The grievance of the petitioners in the instant writ petition is that their nominations for the election of Sarpanch/Panches have been erroneously rejected by the authorities depriving them from participating in the election scheduled to be held on 10.01.2016.

As no time is left either for this Court or for the authorities to call for the records and determine the eligibility of the petitioner(s) to contest the ensuing elections, we dispose of the writ petition with liberty to the petitioners to raise this plea in the Election Petition, if so advised.

Needless to say that the Election Tribunal shall be obligated to decide such petition expeditiously. (4)
