Through the instant petition, the petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in case FIR No.136 dated 24.08.2020 registered under Sections 384, 420 and 34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 (Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act was added later on) at Police Station City Jalalabad, District Fazilka.

In compliance of the order dated 09.12.2020, status report by way of an affidavit dated 16.12.2020 of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division, Jalalabad, District Fazilka on behalf of respondent-State has been filed. Same is taken on record. A copy thereof, has been supplied to the counsel for the petitioner.
