Notice of motion.

[2] On our asking, Mr.Rajesh Bhardwaj, Sr. DAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 and 2. Let two sets of paper-book be handed over to him during the course of day. In view of the nature of the order, which we propose to pass, there is no need to seek any reply-affidavit from the official respondents or to serve respondent Nos.3 and 4, at this stage as no order prejudicial to their interest is being passed.

[3] The petitioner is said to have filed Statutory objections against the Notification dated 19.09.2017 which pertains to delimitation of wards of Municipal Corporation, Patiala. The objections were filed on 03.10.2017 (Annexure P-2). [4] Having heard learned counsel for the parties and considering the fact that the objections submitted by the petitioner against the draft Notification are the only effective remedy available to an aggrieved person, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1-State of Punjab to decide the petitioner's objections before announcement of Elections for the Municipal Corporation, Patiala. [5] A copy of this order be given to learned State counsel for information and necessary compliance.
