The petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the official respondents for release of the detenue namely Prabhjot Kaur, legally wedded wife of the petitioner, from the illegal confinement of respondents no.4 and 5 forthwith.
On 6.6.2025, notice of motion was issued qua respondents no.1 to 3 only.

In pursuance thereto, status report by way of affidavit of Sukhnaaz Singh, PPS, Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Fatehgarh Sahib, District Fatehgarh Sahib has been filed in Court today. The same be kept on record.

CRWP No.6123 of 2025 -2on their own volition through their counsel Mr. Davinder Lubana, Advocate, who has filed his vakalatnama, which is kept on record. Further, the alleged detenue namely-Prabhjot Kaur has also appeared in Court, who is identified by the Investigating Officer ASI Najar Singh. 4.
Though statement dated 7.6.2025 stated to have been made by the detenue Prabhjot Kaur, has been appended with the above status report, which reflects that the detenue had married with the petitioner and has thereafter been living properly with her parents but when asked specifically in Court, she has said that she wants to go with the petitioner. 5.
Having heard learned counsel for the parties and upon perusal of the record, this Court deems it appropriate to close the proceedings in the present petition by permitting the detenue to proceed further with the petitioner Ranveer Singh from Court itself as stated by her. 6.
Ordered accordingly.
