This matter is being taken up for hearing through video conferencing due to the outbreak of pandemic, COVID-19.

Prayer in this writ petition is for a direction to the respondents to allow the petitioner to continue working on the post of Assistant Professor/Extension Lecturer in the subject of Defence studies at Government College, Adampur with a prayer to quash order dated 18.10.2017 whereby petitioner had been relieved from service.

Learned counsel for the State submits that as the petitioner has since been adjusted and is working at Government College, Meham, this writ petition is rendered infructuous. Learned counsel for the petitioner does not deny the same, however, he submits that as the post at Government College, Adampur is vacant again, petitioner may be considered for appointment at the said college.
