A batch of 12 writ petitions are being disposed of by a common order as counsel for the petitioners contends that issue involved in the present batch of writ petitions is identical.

It is contended by the petitioner that the petitioners had approached this Court for seeking issuance of directions to the respondents to release the cash award and scholarship for the Sports achievement of the petitioners in terms of the policy of the Government of Haryana in the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs notified in the year 2009 and 2015 respectively.

Counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner had to approach this Court since they failed to apply for the cash awards pursuant to the invitation of applications by respondents-State. However, during the pendency of the present writ petition the Government of Haryana had published a special onetime chance for cash award on 04.08.2022. The same reads as under:-
-4- 2023:PHHC:110520 Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Haryana Special One Time Chance for Cash Award Sportspersons, who could not submit their application to get Cash Award on the basis of National and International level sports achievements during 01/04/2009 to 31/03/2021 due to any reason, their applications are invited by giving them the Special One Time Chance to get the cash reward, provided that they are otherwise eligible as per the then departmental notifications regarding Cash Award Scheme.
These sportspersons will have to submit their application in the office of the District Sports and Youth Affairs Officer of their respective district by 31/08/2022 after filling it completely on the basis of their sports achievements during this period. Applications received after that last date will not be considered. Sample of application form is available on the website of the department at www.haryanasports.gov.in. As per the aforesaid public notice, the sports persons who failed to submit their claims/applications with the respondent for cash award were granted an opportunity to furnish a fresh application by 31.08.2022. The petitioners contend that they have already submitted their application to the respondents pursuant to the aforesaid public notice and that they would be satisfied at this juncture in case the respondent authorities are directed to take an appropriate decision on the said applications in a time bound manner. 5.
Counsel for the respondent has no objection to the same. 6.
Accordingly, with the consent of the parties and without commenting on the merits of the claims, the present petitions are disposed of
-5- 2023:PHHC:110520 with a direction to the respondents to take a decision on the applications submitted by the petitioners for cash award in terms of the "Special One Time Chance for Cash Award" in a time bound manner and preferably within a period of 04 months from the receipt of certified copy of this order. 7.
Needless to mention that in case the petitioners are found entitled to the cash award upon such consideration, the same shall be released to the petitioners within a period of 02 months thereafter. The petitions are accordingly disposed of.
