JUSTICE AMARJOT BHATTI The brief facts of the case are that complainant- Vandana Sood complainant filed a written complaint against her husband Sahil Sood and inlaws family alleging that her marriage was solemnized six months ago by her parents by spending huge amount. Her in-laws were unhappy with the dowry articles. She was harassed and pressurized to bring car from her parents. Her parents had already spent huge amount at the time of marriage. Therefore, they were not in a position to give a car. On 25.03.2018 at about 8:00 PM her husband returned home and started abusing her and misbehaved

with her. She confined herself in a room to save herself. Thereafter with the help of her father, she was told to open the door by giving assurance of her safety. When she opened the door she was beaten up by her husband and inlaws and inflicted serious injuries. Her parents reached there and she was taken to a private hospital. On the other hand, the accused filed a false complaint against her family. The in-laws have retained her jewellery, clothes, furniture and costly items to which they have no right. Ultimately, the present complaint was filed and the FIR was registered.
