Respondent No.14 has filed Eviction Petition under Section 7 of the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Act, 1961, as applicable to State of Haryana (for brevity,'the 1961 Act') against 9 persons seeking their eviction from the Gram Panchayat land. The eviction petition was filed on 21.07.2016 in the Court of Assistant Collector, Ist Grade, Indri, District Karnal. It further appears that the petitioner has subsequently filed an application under Order 1 Rule 10 CPC to implead him as co-petitioner. We are not aware of the fate of that application. He has now filed the writ petition seeking a direction to the Assistant Collector, Ist Grade, Indri, District Karnal to decide the eviction petition expeditiously. [2] We have heard learned counsel for the petitioner. [4] The writ petition is, thus, disposed of without expressing any views on merits with a direction to the Assistant Collector,Ist Grade, Indri, District Karnal, to take up the eviction petition titled 'Bharat Bhushan vs Raj Kumar and others' expeditiously and make an endeavour to decide the same within three months from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
