Prayer in the present petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for directing the official respondents to proviate immediate and adequate police protection to the petitioners and their family members. Further prayer has been made for directing the respondents to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners in any manner whatsoever and to further ensure protection under witness protection scheme in FIR No.0185 dated 27.06.2020, under Section 103 of BNS, 2023 and Section 25 of the Arms Act, 1959, registered at Police Station Civil Lines, Batala.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that for the redressal of her grievance, petitioner has filed representation dated 19.05.2026 (Annexure P-1) before respondent5-SHO, PS Kotli Surat Malhi, District Batala but the same has not been taken into consideration till date.

On asking of the Court, Mr. K.D. Sachdeva, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents-State. 5.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction that in case the petitioner moves a representation before respondent No.4-Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala within a week, then Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala is directed to decide the same expeditiously within four weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order in accordance with law. 6.
