This petition under Article 226 of Constitution of India has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus seeking directions upon the official respondents to get released his daughter, namely Simran from the illegal detention of respondents No. 4 and 5. 2.

In compliance of the order dated 9.6.2025 passed by this Court, the learned State counsel has filed status report by way of affidavit of Superintendent of Police (CAW&C) in Officiating Charge of Sub Division, Sri Muktsar Sahib, which is taken on record.

In the said status report, it has been averred that the police has inquired into the allegations levelled by the petitioner and found that detenue Simran is aged 19 years. The detenue has performed marriage with Sanjay Kumar (respondent No. 4) on 31.5.2025 and been residing happily with him. It is further echoed therein that the detenue has also suffered her statement to the effect that she has got married with the said respondent with her own Gurpreet Singh 2025.06.13 13:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

In addition, it is averred in the status report (supra) that given the apprehension of danger to their lives and liberty at the hands of the parents of detenue Simran, they also preferred a petition seeking protection of their lives and liberty bearing CRWP No. 5973 of 2025, which has been disposed of by this Court vide order dated 5.6.2025.

Faced with this situation, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the instant petition. 5.

Dismissed as withdrawn.
